| Summary of thesis | My work is split into two main research directions: 1) Quantum biosensing - the use of quantum phenomena in biological and environmental applications - this ranges medical imaging, developing super-resolution microscopy methods, entangled-photon absorption of biomolecules as well as quantum sensing of greenhouse gases (Methane, CO2).
2) Soft X-ray Transient Absorption Spectroscopy of biomolecules in liquid state - performing TR-TXS on biomolecules, such as DNA bases, using a liquid-jet. The final goal of this project would be to perform coherent control on DNA bases in liquids, further understanding the bonding and formation kinetics on the femtosecond scale. |
