Title: Acts of Assistance: Solving the riddle of stable cooperation among non-relatives in nonhuman primates

Studying the evolution of cooperation between unrelated individuals in vervet monkeys. Why be cooperative when there seems to be no direct benefit? Approaching the questions with two theories: the shared stake model and competitive altruism model. Performing observational as well as experimental data collection in a wild study population in South-Africa.
