| Summary of thesis | The aim is to determine the diversity and the importance of foraminifera in freshwater environments. To investigate deeper the ecology of this group we amplified partial SSU rDNA sequences of foraminifera from various freshwater ecosystems of Geneva basin. We also plan to amplify and sequence the entire SSU rDNA to improve the phylogenetic position of these novel organisms among foraminifera |
