Detailed information about the course
Title | Introduction to Protein Structure Analysis and AlphaFold |
Dates | 11 & 12 June 2025 |
Organizer(s) | Julia Santiago, Prof., UNIL Pedro Jímenez-Sandoval, Dr. UNIL
|
Speakers | Julia Santiago, Prof., UNIL Pedro Jímenez-Sandoval, Dr. UNIL |
Description | This two-day training session will provide the basics of protein structure determination and how this information is stored in databases and how you can download them and visualize it. We will use AlphaFold to predict protein structures and compare them with real structures. We will also investigate how to find homologous structures via 3D searches, and to design mutants. The second half of the course will be dedicated to use these tools to your own research question, that you might want to address via structural predictions. Required skills: Students will need their own laptop with enough memory left to install and operate the softwares.
