The CUSO satellite activity of the Swiss Virology Meeting offer to the PhD students a half (January 28 from 10:30 to 14:30), held in conjunction with the Swiss Virology Meeting 2025. This engaging, half-day event is designed to offer PhD students a platform for presenting and discussing cutting-edge virological research. The activity includes presentations from renowned experts in virology, a roundtable lunch, and an opportunity for students to showcase their own work through selected oral and poster presentations.

This activity is a unique chance for students to exchange ideas with both academic and industry leaders and gain insights into career paths in virology.

January 28, 2025

10:25 - 10:30 AM: Opening Remarks and Welcome

10:30 - 11:15 AM: Invited Talk 1: Prof. Timothy Tellinghuisen, Head of Virology Research, Roche

Topic: Insights into Virology Research in the Private Sector Title: Virology at Roche

11:15 - 12:00 PM: Invited Talk 2: Dr. Gisa Gerold, Institute of Biochemistry, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover

Topic: Virus Entry into Cells: A Proteomics Approach Title: Virology meets proteomics: novel tools for host factor identification

12:00 - 2:00 PM: Roundtable Lunch An interactive lunch where PhD students can engage directly with invited speakers and fellow students in a roundtable discussion format.

2:00 - 2:30 PM: Oral Presentation Session
Volunteer CUSO PhD students will chair this session, featuring two selected abstracts from CUSO students.
