Summary of thesis

I am studying the genomics of voles on isolated islands, specifically Guernsey and Orkney. The aim of the study is to reveal the genetic consequences of isolation, including inbreeding levels, genetic diversity and differentiation, as well as differences in genome architecture (particularly large structural rearrangements such as inversions) between island and mainland populations. The study also aims to detect signals of selection that may underlie island-specific phenotypes.
