Regulation of homeotic genes in vertebrates

The thesis project is a comparison of Hox gene regulation in birds and mammals, during embryonic development. We want to see which regulatory mechanisms are specific to each species and which are common. The tools used are those of molecular genetic of development ad functional genomics. This work includes also mouse transgenesis assays as well as several mouse mutant lines.
