| Summary of thesis | I am using creating deletion mutants of different virulence genes in a neurovirulent strain of L. monocytogenes. I am going to test these strains in Organotypic Brain slice cultures from cattle, as well as in dorsal root ganglia cells. I am going to check for inhibition of replication and spread in these culture systems. Additionally we have sequenced multiple L. monocytogenes strains (either causing encephalitis or not) and are going to compare these two groups. |
