Individuals discrimination through metagenomic salivary analysis

In collaboration with Prof Taroni of criminal sciences of UNIL, we will pursue the development of techniques allowing to discriminate individuals based on the metagenomics analysis of saliva stains, with potential applications in criminal cases. In order to accomplish this aim, we will recruit monozygotic twins in order to assess if the microbiota is sufficiently different to discriminate individuals as close as them. Also, in our analysis, we will try to settle the best technical parameters in order to reach this goal.
