Description

This activity aims at assisting PhD students in the field of microbiology to acquire practical skills in research data management. Open Research Data (ORD) skills are becoming more and more relevant in the field of microbiology with the acquisition of large-scale datasets, imaging, culture collections, sequence data, etc. The workshop activity will cover four elements taught by the Research Data Steward of Univ. of Neuchatel with assistance of expert local scientists: Conceiving a Data Management Plan for a research project/grant application; How to organize scientific datasets, files, storage, metadata; Documenting scientific datasets for the public, scientific community & Sharing research data on public repositories according to the field-specific requirements. The workshop will include introductory talks on the different subjects, practical activities for the PhD students to work on their own or public datasets and exchange with experts in the field
