| Description | Climate change is one of the most pressing societal concerns of our time. Climate change impacts multiple areas: from policy making to public health. As the main engines of biogeochemical cycling, microorganisms are at the center of processes affecting our climate. In this 2-day activity, research experts will discuss multiple aspects liking climate change and microbiology. This includes: - The shift and modification of the distribution range of vectors involved in the transmission of microbial diseases, - The health of in-land aquatic systems and the challenges we will face for clean water supplies, - The future of permafrost and the environmental/health consequences of soil thawing. |
