Summary of thesis

Pieris brassicae oviposition triggers an innate immune response in Arabidopsis thaliana. The phytohormone salicylic acid accumulates under eggs and suppresses defense responses against chewing insects. We are investigating how this crosstalk is mediated. We also try to characterize the nature of the egg elicitor(s).
