Description |
The SeeDS (Symposium of Ecology and Evolution Doctoral Students) is a fun and stress-free meeting organized by the graduate students for graduate students in ecology and evolutionary biology.
This year the symposium will be split into two parts: One part will focus on the practical aspects of being a PhD student. On one hand this involves different aspects of publishing (open access, high impact) and on the other hand career options after completion of a PhD. Young researchers will report about their personal experiences. The second part will be more general about academia and will point out some of its inherent problems such as mental health and discrimination. Especially now due to COVID-related changes we should not forget to take care about others and ourselves.
This symposium will finish with a virtual socializing event where you can meet your colleagues in a friendly atmosphere.
The whole event will be held online via Zoom.
