This is a special public half-day symposium in honour of Dr. Georgina Mace and her contributions to conservation, for which she is being awarded an honorary doctorate degree from UNIL on June 1, 2018. Dr. Georgina Mace and a number of internationally renowned conservation specialists will give a perspective on conservation trends through the last decades, focusing on Dr. Mace’s efforts in producing scientific criteria for establishing Red Lists of Endangered Species, and on her more recent work on Ecosystem Services and the Millenium Development Goals. The symposium is organized jointly by UNIL and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Gland, Switzerland. The symposium is public, and everyone is welcome to attend. All talks will be in English.
