Description

In the framework of exploring the various professional outlooks available to PhD students within the MPS program, we will be visiting the agriculture center of Bayer-France based in Lyon (www.bayer.com/en/agriculture/pipeline). Our host will be Philippe Meresse, director of the LifeHub Lyon, an innovative interface linking the various core research programs of Bayer in the field of agriculture (e.g. CropKeys in crop protection and Innov4Ag) with new startups.

During this one-day visit, you will be in contact with various researchers and personnel of the agriculture division of Bayer-Lyon and visit their research facilities. You will learn about the various research programs as well as what tools and skills Bayer is using in their research portfolio for crop protection, including the ever increasing use of AI and genomics. You will also learn what Bayer is looking for in candidates for positions in their industry.

A minimum of 8 students is required for this visit, so please sign up early!

Information

The agriculture center of Bayer-France based in Lyon (www.bayer.com/en/agriculture/pipeline) can be easily reached by public transports form the city center of Lyon.

IMPORTANT: THE PARTICIPANT MUST ARRIVE IN LYON THE EVENING BEFORE THE VISIT (Thursday November 21st).

The visit will start at 9am.

Expenses

CUSO MPS Participants will be reimbursed for:

Accomodation:
- 1 night for a MAXIMUM of 100 CHF for the Night+Breakfast+taxes
- NO reimbursement for your meal expenses

Transports:
- Train from your institution to Lyon and return (2nd class, half-fare for the Swiss part of the trip)

 

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BOOKING AND PAYMENT OF YOUR TRAVEL TICKETS AND ACCOMODATION. NO REIMBURSEMENT IN CASE OF CANCELLATION. NO REIMBURSEMENT WITHOUT ORIGINAL BILLS. Only people attending the visit will be reimbursed.

 

Reimbursement form attached with original tickets has to be sent to the MPS coordinator Zoia Debora at University of Lausanne, Department of Molecular Plant Biology, Biophore - quartier UNIL-Sorge, 1015 Lausanne.
