| Description | Camera traps are powerful and commonly used tools to monitor biodiversity. However, their analyses sparks novel computational questions regarding their (automated) annotation, ecological analysis and sharing. We hereby invite you to join the third annual Swiss Cam Trap Meeting. The goal of this meeting is to foster collaboration and exchange among camera trapping users based in Switzerland. Through a combination of talks and discussions we would like to elaborate on the technical challenges that arise when working with camera traps, such as: How to automatically annotate images for species, pose, numbers etc.? How to minimize observation bias when assessing biodiversity via camera traps? How to deal with privacy issues (i.e. humans shown on pictures)? How to best share camera trapping pictures and annotations? How to deal with technical issues of camera traps (e.g. time-shifts)? How to deal with annotation errors in downstream analyses? How to set up a workflow for practitioners? How to target elusive mammals in dense vegetation? How to get density estimates of unmarked species? |
