A hands on practical course (two times two full days) that is a continuation of Computer Skills for Biological Research, looking more deeply into regular expressions (sed and grep), the use (and misuse) of pipes, input and output redirections and the design of bash scripts for use with computer clusters (slurm based). It includes a introduction to the awk scripting language and, hopefully, another on how to make simple parallelisation within R scripts. Basic knowledge of scripting required, such as provided by Computers Skills for Biological Research. |
