November 11th 2010 at the University of Lausanne

The SeeDS (Symposium of Ecology and Evolution Doctoral Students) is a fun and stress-free meeting organized by the graduate students for graduate students in ecology and evolutionary biology and other researchers to discuss their current research and meet new colleagues from across Switzerland and abroad. You do not have to present a talk to attend the conference and we welcome all interested students to join us and learn from each other.

On this day graduate students are given the opportunity to present their views on current scientific theories and their ideas for future projects in a care-free environment. This is your chance to share your ideas with peers and get valuable feedback! Of course you can also present results of work that you have already been doing: it is an open format and they're your 15 minutes.

Invited speakers

Three invited speakers will each provide a plenary session presenting their thoughts.
Dr. Jon Slate
and Dr. Wilfried Thuiller will tell about their research in evolution and ecology and Prof. Peter Young will share with us his life's experience of growing into a career in science. After the talks and during the following apéro there will be ample opportunity for questions and discussions.
