Summary of thesis

My project aims at understanding the mechanisms governing behaviour in the cnidarian Nematostella vectensis. Nematostella has emerged as powerful model and is particularly suited to study the evolution of the nervous system due to its phylogenetic position. In my project, I aim to decipher the genetic basis of natural behaviours by combining deep-learning based behavioural analyses, pharmacological approaches as well as recently developed genetic tools.
