For 2 days a small group of PhD students will go hiking around Lac de Mauvoisin and the Cabane de Chanrion (Val de Bagnes, Valais, Switzerland) accompanied by a specialist in the alpine flora.

Students will study plants in link with their PhD projects, or the research conducted in their labs, and will prepare a presentation for the group on a publication, in relation to their reseach and the plants observed in the field. Cases of plant-insect coevolution, plant adaptation to freezing in high mountains, observation of the rhizosphere, parasitism in plants, relationship between soil acidity and plant composition, and morphological variations of plants due to environmental pressures will be presented and discussed.
