Co-director of thesis Dr. Rémy Bruggmann Department of Biology, Bioinformatics
Summary of thesis

The aim is to first find the causative mutation that causes absence of horns (polledness) in cattle (the mutation has already been mapped in an 440kb intervall on chromosome 1).

In a second part I will first map and finally identify a second mutation, that causes so called Scurs. Scurs are small horn-like growths, they can develop in cattle carrying the mutation for polled.
