Author Carolina GARCIA
Director of thesis Prof. Nadia Mercader Huber
Co-director of thesis Prof. Jose Antonio Enriquez Dominguez
Summary of thesis

The main objective of this thesis is to study how mitochondrial respiration and mitochondrial ROS can affect cardiovascular development in pathological condition, how the main mitochondrial respiration system, the OXPHOS system is structured in zebrafish homeostasis and heart regeneration and functional consequences of mitochondrial respiration defects. To asess that, new zebrafish animal models will be done using both tipical trangenesis system as Tol2 random transgenesis and new direct genome modification as Crispr-Cas technology.
