Molecular mechanisms of retina regeneration in adult zebrafish

We investigate the processes involved during reconstruction of photoreceptors layer after severe chemical injury in zebrafish retina. Müller glia creates progenitors that migrate to the injured part of the retina and differentiate to give rise to newborn and functional photoreceptors. Our goal is to enlarge the knowledge about the molecular actors of this process of retinal regeneration.
