Summary of thesis

Hsp90 plays important role in protozoan parasites such as Plasmodium falciparum. There are increasing evidence showing that Hsp90 can be an ideal drug target against malaria. We are interested of screening for inhibitor that selectively binds to Plasmodium Hsp90. To develop biological tools for screening, we have generated a isogenic yeast strain that is complemented by Plasmodium falciparum Hsp90. The screening is perform in combination with in-silico virtual screening as a step for candidate preselection and in vivo validation using the isogenic yeast.
