Summary of thesis

EVOLUTION - ORTHOLOGY

My works focus on investigating on methods to infer hierarchical orthologous groups—that are defined as sets of genes all descending from a single common ancestral gene—in large genomic comparative setups up to thousand of genomes. Hierarchical orthologous groups can be used as a powerful framework for many applications: reconstruction of ancestral genomes, functional annotation of genes, phylogenetics analysis, comparative genomics.
