Description

Despite the existence of a highly effective vaccine against measles virus infection, there is currently a recrudescence of cases, including complicated ones, due to insufficient immunization coverage. Complications are favored by the prolonged immunosuppression induced by the virus. The mechanisms underlying this immunosuppression have been elucidated very recently. Paul Kellam will present his work on the subject on February 27 at 12:30 pm. In addition to this presentation, students will be asked to read a paper chosen by the speaker and related to his presentation topic. The day before the conference (Wednesday, February 26th from 4:30pm to 6pm), students will meet with a CUSO teacher (1 teacher per 10 students) to discuss the paper. The next day, immediately after the conference, an interactive session will take place, during which students will ask questions and discuss the main points of the paper and the presentation with the expert and 2 CUSO teachers. Attendance at the conference and at the interactive session are sufficient to earn the CUSO credit.
