Title

Introduction to simulation for experimental design using R

Dates

12 July 2018

Organizer(s)

Dr. Marta Bellone, Coordinator of the CUSO Doctoral Program in Ecology and Evolution

Speakers

Dr Etienne Low-Decarie, University of Essex (UK)

Description

Experimental design can be challenging. Producing a simulated data set can allow a scientist to explore the validity of their design and the feasibility of subsequent analysis and presentation. This workshop will use a combination of lectures and practical exercises specifically tailored for ecology, evolution and environmental sciences. The workshop will progress from simple simulations using spreadsheet software to more sophisticated simulations and analysis approaches in R.
