Detailed information about the course
Title | Applied statistical regression modelling for biologists using R [CLOSED] (2016) |
Dates | 14, 19, 21, 28 January and 2 February 2016 |
Organizer(s) | Christiane Bobillier, Doctoral Program in Organismal Biology, University of Neuchâtel (CH) Caroline Betto-Colliard, Coordinator, CUSO |
Speakers | Dr Diego Kuonen, CStat PStat CSci, Statoo Consulting, Berne |
Description | OBJECTIVEThis course features a hands-on approach to learning, dividing class time between lectures, case studies and practicals using the free R software environment for statistical computation and graphics. The presented models will be applied to biological, biomedical and environmental data.

Evaluation | Full attendance. A practical evaluation (case study or exercises) has to be passed at the end of the course. |
Information | !! PREREQUISITES !!The participants are expected to have prior experience with R and basic statistics in general . To be more specific, they are required to know how to use R for standard statistical analyses (e.g. doing a t-test), and they should know about the fundamental data structures such as vectors, lists and data frames. Ideally, the participants have already followed the "An Introduction to R" training.
