Title

The role of MAR elements in DNA recombination

Author Kaja KOSTYRKO

Summary of thesis

Matrix attachment regions (MARs) are responsible for mediating the organisation of chromatin and modulating of gene expression. Recent evidence suggests that they may also play a role in DNA recombination. The goal of the thesis is to obtain more evidence on the role of MAR elements in homologous recombination and identify a molecular mechanism behind this function of MARs.
