| Summary of thesis | The aim of the project is first to genetically describe the Swiss honey bee population with particular emphasis on the genetic diversity and conservation of the native A. m. mellifera. In a second step, based on the information of sequenced pure bees, a genome wide association study will be performed. Therewith quantitative trait loci (QTL) for disease resistance can be mapped providing a useful tools for today’s honey bee breeding. |
