Summary of thesis

The One Health Consortium aims to explore the connections between soil, plant, animal and human health through the microbiomes at their interfaces. External changes can alter microbial communities and thus influence the entire food chain. My project, within the OneHealth consortium, aims to study the microbiomes at the interface of the soil-plant interaction. In particular, the focus is on three environmental chemicals: heavy metals, plant secondary metaboltes and herbicides, and how they impact both soil microbial community structure and functioning.
