So you're a microbiologist? Come have a break with us at this year's CUSO Microbiology retreat!

We will spend two days meeting microbiologists from other labs in a beautiful castle-hotel in Morat. We planned plenty of time to meet and cheer, with the main goal of talking about what we have in common in a different way than what we usually do.

You can expect:

• Scientific blind dating, where you'll meet (almost) randomly PhD students from other labs to get to know what each other is doing in a very limited time.
• Extending views during your PhD: activities on the importance and application of careful moral management, project management and how to speak properly of your specialty in public.
• Extending views after your PhD: What happens after a PhD in biology? Round table on the difference between working in the academia, in a government agency and in the private sector.
• A vineyard visit with a wine tasting session. That's applied microbiology right? For the people who don't drink alcohol: we've got you covered and planned delicious non-alcoholic fermented beverages. That's… well, more applied microbiology!

15h00 Organic vineyard visit and wine tasting at the Cave Guillod.

We have booked single rooms for everyone.

Hotel: Château de Villars-les-Moines (Schloss Münchenviler), Morat

Free for members of the CUSO PhD students. CUSO will pay for the accommodation, travel and the visit of the wineyard.

Reimbursements: - Train ticket, 2°class, half-fare from your institution to the place of the activity.
