LS2 – previously known as USGEB – is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the life sciences within the Swiss academic community. Founded over 40 years ago, the organisation provides an important network for researchers working in all domains of fundamental and applied biological and biomedical research. Furthermore, LS2 provides the opportunity for researchers to have a unified voice to address the social, ethical and economic impact of the life sciences within the broader community. The Annual Meeting is a highlight event of LS2, attracting hundreds of researchers from across Switzerland, as well as those abroad interested to stay in contact with the Swiss life sciences network. In the 2014 meeting we are excited to welcome outstanding international plenary speakers, as well as host symposia organised by the LS2 member societies that will highlight the cutting-edge research performed in Switzerland today. For junior scientists, the conference provides a unique first opportunity to present their research accomplishments to a national audience. Moreover, for Masters, Doctoral and Post-doctoral researchers planning to take their next career steps, several educational and career guidance initiatives are planned. For all, the meeting provides an unparalleled opportunity to meet old colleagues and establish new contacts and collaborations.

As in the past, members of the LS² member societies are invited to attend the LS² annual meeting free of charge.

Non-members will be charged a fee of CHF 100.- payable by credit card during your online registration or at the registration desk directly on site (prior registration required). The fee includes coffee/tea and the lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday as well as the cocktail on Tuesday evening.

You may register as a new member of one of the LS² societies before the conference by filling the electronic form on the LS² website. Your membership has to be approved by the selected society before to get your free registration to the conference.
